Hi Bunnies! I’m Adrienne. I live just outside Seattle, Washington, in lovely Shoreline. I grew up in Pennsylvania and moved to Seattle just after graduating from college in 1994. I have a BA in Old World Art and Archaeology, which sounds really cool (and it kind of is) but has very little to do with my current career. To bring home the bacon, I work for a land conservation non-profit and support the organization with grant writing, report writing, researching all kinds of issues, trying to make pretty graphics and maps, editing my verbose colleagues, and brewing one hell of a pot of office coffee. My loves are: my husband (Jesse), my dog (Endo), watching television, watching soccer (no longer playing), reading, and sleeping. I have been known to be crafty: making greeting cards or other paper arts, sewing things that take straight lines like pillow cases, and I am starting to learn needle felting. For the past few years, I’ve been delving into the comic and graphic novel realms. Comics are still very new and exciting for me. I’m also interested in citizen science and volunteer to monitor streams for salmon presence each fall.I dig sci-fi and horror, a lot, in pretty much any form. And I am ALWAYS looking for new stuff to read, watch, or visit, like art exhibits. On BSG, I was immediately drawn to Apollo and his struggle with his father while finding his own identity. That definitely hit close to home. The blue eyes didn’t hurt either! I’ve been a fan of the show since the mini-series aired. The one and only time I’ve gotten into a cool thing at the beginning. I should warn the group now that I am one who wasn’t really thrilled with the series’ conclusion. I’m happy to see Jamie getting more work, especially since he seemed unsure of his future at the 2008 Emerald City Comicon. 2008 ECCC is also where I was able to meet Jamie. I was so nervous! But he was very kind and, like some others of you noted, he remembered me on both days of the con. I can be found various other places on the internet. Some places as msktonic (live journal) and others as catatonic cutie or “A” (goodreads, myspace). I’m not real savvy with the internet social networking, yet. It takes a lot of time I often don’t have, but I’m learning every day and looking forward to getting to know you all. |
