G'day my name is Tanya G.  As you may have already guessed I am an Australian.  I grew up on the outskirts of Melbourne, Victoria.  Horse riding has been a passion and hobby since childhood.  I enjoy all T.V. and movie genres, my mum introduced me to Star Wars as a seven year old girl and I have loved Sci Fi ever since.  I was never really into Star Trek but my husband, Shaun, of nearly 15 years is and it has grown on me over the years.  We have four children, triplet girls and a younger son (my name Bricharni is an amalgamation of my children's names).  The menagerie includes two dogs, five cats and five horses.  We are avid Australian Rules football fans, my children are fifth generation supporters of the Essendon Bombers.  Go Bombers!  My husband and I both are Police Officers, we met as squad mates nearly 20 years ago.  In Australia we only have Federal and State Police.  We work for the Victoria Police (a state force).  Several years ago we commenced a Degree in Public Safety and Policing together, unfortunately my husband began to suffer acute PTSD and had to drop out.  Six months later the pressure of my large family, sick hubby and work commitments was too much for me to combine and I had to drop out too.  :(   Whilst my husband is well on the road to recovery and back at work full time I'm now ill with PTSD and may just take the "insane" title away from BeyondInsane! lol!  I have used my love of Sci Fi, Battlestar Galactic in particular, to help myself through these trying times.  :)

I first noticed Jamie in the Hornblower series.  I am a bit of military buff, historical dramas and documentaries on wars interest me.  I also adore Sean Bean whom I grew to love as Richard Sharpe in the Napoleonic war drama series, Sharpe - so Hornblower was right up my alley!  I saw Jamie again in Daniel Deronda but didn't really connect the dots until I saw him as Apollo in BSG.  I new I had seen him before and I had been impressed by him, but it wasn't until I googled him all of the pieces fell into place!  Wow!  What a change, Jamie went from a gorgeous young man in Hornblower/Daniel Deronda to a fully fledged well developed, full grown man in BSG!  Then there was the way he portrayed Apollo...  I can remember the original series and I loved it, but this new version has a soul and truth to it at its core that provokes such gut wrenching emotions within me it's almost frightening.  I love the series, there's not a thing I don't like about it.  As good as Jamie is he would be nothing without the rest of the stellar cast, writers, producers, the support crew, special effects etc... I'm so happy for Jamie and his fans that he won this role and has shared this character with us over the past five years!  It's been one wild ride!  I look forward to the conclusion of the series with bitter-sweet emotions.  I wish Jamie all the best with his new projects and wait patiently for my next Bamber fix!  I also look forward to meeting Jamie in Melbourne in March, 2009.  I plan to hold my head high and wave the Bamber Bunny Flag with pride!  ;)  I also love Stargate and am a huge Daniel Jackson fan too!
 
I, like many of you, have been shy and lurking in forums for quite some time before getting the courage to speak up.  I am one of the unfortunate people who cannot log on to Skiffy to share your adventures there... not through lack of trying mind you!  I joined Jamie's Live Journal and the UK Jamie Fan Site too.  Whilst at these sites I met BeyondInsane and Bamberrific.  I don't need to tell you how wonderful these girls are!  After lurking around the Bamber Bunnies site for a while I plucked up the courage to join.  I look forward to having and sharing as much fun, mirth and frivolity as is possible on the net!!
