Ahh, Fan Content. Our crack legal team of highly paid hot blonde interns tells me that I should reiterate that this "Fan Content" is just that - "Fan Content." No infringement is intended nor ownership implied. Now, on with Submission Guidelines. To submit a story, poem, or piece of fan art, send an email via the "Contact Us" link with the item in question. You will receive an email confirmation immediately, and a follow up email in a few days saying whether or not the item has been accepted, and if it has not been, why not. The following guidelines should help you determine what is appropriate for the site. Fan Fiction: A general repository of fiction this is not, and cannot be. There is an abundance of fan fiction sites around, fanfiction.net being the most prominent, that will take whatever you throw at them, and I mean that in the best possible way. The fan fiction here is subjected to intense scrutiny, and is meant to showcase the best of what we get sent. Don't take it personally if what you submit is not accepted. We will be choosy because I envision maybe ten fics total at any given time on the site. They might even get rotated out. That being said, these points kind of illustrate what we are looking for. a) Non-Episodic - Your 37-chapter magnum opus might be gods gift to fan fiction, but we just don't have the bandwidth to go on the epic journey of Lee Adama becoming his own man for the 90th time by flying his Viper solo across the galaxy. Send me a link, though, cause I'll read it. b) Appropriate - Dudes, Jamie's WIFE has been on this site. I like a good L/K as much as the next gal, but let's put that back in your seekrit file, shall we? Ditto for anything pointlessly violent or emotionally manipulative. Smutfic, angstfic, wingfic, songfic, and slashfic all have their places (on my hard drive) but not on the site. But, um, email them to me. For my expert proofreading skills. Exceptions to the slash moratorium would be if it's PG-13 and in character. Bean/Danny shippers start your engines. c) Canon-Respectful - We would like fiction where the characters are acting in character and the situations are plausible. Lee Adama becoming the military dictator of Kobol and demanding human sacrifices is just right out. AU is fine if you are exploring the other side of a decision or a plausible what-if. But if you've got a great fiction about Archie and Lee meeting up on Astra Major, we'll totally put that up. d) Character-Homage - Your really well written, non episodic, appropriate, and canon respectful piece on how much of a feeble, emotional basket case coward Lee is really won't go over too well with us. Just a warning. Poems: Poems should be about a character or about bunny-dom in general. As much as we've all written seventeen epic poems about your first meeting with Jamie in your diary (or your Dairy, which is what I first wrote and who am I to judge where you write your poems), trust me, the world does not need to know about them. With regards to poems about characters or shows, the above "Fan Fiction" rules apply. Unless you're going to write me some smut in Iambic Pentameter, cause I think we'd publish that because of the sheer impressiveness of it. Fan Art: Ok, we all know that any picture on the internet is fair game, but if something is OBVIOUSLY a rip off of someone else's work, that's not cool. Let's play nice boys and girls. Fan art is probably the least regulated category, because it is so broad. It can be some really masterful manip or some screen cap with a mildly clever saying slapped on it. It can be an actual *drawing* (how archaic!) or a power point presentation on Archie's midshipman uniform. Whatever. Use common sense.
