Hey Y’all! My name is Tammie and I’m a proud Bamber bunny! I’ve lived all of my 45 and ½ years in the great state of Texas, and I owe my love for BSG to my sister Carla. Both of us moved back home to take care of our mom after our dad died, and she constantly tried to con me into watching TV programs with her. Now, we’re both science fiction fans, but I had given up television as a lost cause, preferring to read. I went online to find out more about this wonderful series and that’s where I found the sci-fi channel’s BSG board. It was the first one that I had ever signed up on, but I just had to talk to all these people that understood my obsession. And that’s where I met Sylvie-Anne (SyllverViper) and the rest of the bunnies. Sylvie is the best friend, and the most loving and caring person in the whole world. I didn’t understand at the time how far she would go to cheer a person up, but I soon would. My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in Sept 06. I went to the thread and poured out my heart. I was devastated to think I might lose my sister. All the bunnies rallied around me and offered instant support. My sister prompted me to get checked too, and I had the same kind of cancer in the same breast. To say the least I was depressed and upset, crying all the time. Both of our surgeries went well though, and our radiation treatments too. Through it all, the bunnies were pure gold. Not a week went by that I didn’t at least get a card or a gift of some sort, not only for myself, but my sister too.Unbeknownst to me, Sylvie got in touch with Terry Moore, the wife of Ron Moore. She arranged to have Jamie Bamber email me and offer support and encouragement. And if that wasn’t enough, she had a friend of hers make breast cancer awareness bracelets for all of us, Jamie included. She flew to Michelle (Bamberrific)’s house in Oklahoma, and then they, their husbands, and Sylvie’s precious son David drove down and met me in Dallas for a visit. We had the best time! Sylvie gave me a painting of Bug and I that was done by another cancer survivor.( I don’t have room on here to go into the whole Bug story, suffice it to say he’s my beloved pet and the geographical center of my universe) And Michelle gave me my official BSG dog tags. Then they went on to Dragon-Con in Atlanta. Sylvie had one of the Dallas pictures of she and I framed and presented it, along with Jamie’s bracelet to him. It was heartwarming to hear that he immediately knew who she was, and that he asked how I was doing. I love all the bunnies for everything they have done for me, all the love, support, kindness, laughter and friendship. But I truly don’t believe we would be as cohesive a unit without our Snuggly Evil Mistress leading us on.

My sister asked me to watch a new miniseries on the sci-fi channel with her. I made some agreeable noise, and promptly forgot about the whole thing. Well, I had just gotten a brand new book that I was dying to read, when my sister knocked on my door. She said the program that I had agreed to watch was about to come on and I wasn’t going to wiggle out of it this time. Reluctantly I put my book down, and the rest is history. I was hooked.
